Animal Sponsorships at UnterWasserReich

You can sponsor an animal as an individual, a family or a company. Animal sponsorships make excellent gifts for special occasions such as birthdays, Christmas, First Communion, Confirmation or an anniversary. They are a wonderful way to bring joy to people who have a soft spot for animals!

Good reasons to become an animal sponsor:

• A sponsorship supports efforts to raise awareness of important environmental issues. Around 27,000 visitors come to the ‘UnterWasserReich’ local leisure destination every year.
• A sponsorship is an investment in the future. Encountering the animals is a valuable experience, especially for children and young people.
• A sponsorship has a lasting impact. It benefits both the animals and the visitors.
• A sponsorship does not cover ongoing operating costs.
• A sponsorship enables a personal connection with animals that would otherwise not be possible.

How do I become a sponsor?

Please contact us by email, Facebook message or post to let us know that you wish to become an animal sponsor. Please provide us with your name, address, email address, age (if applicable) and, of course, the animal you wish to sponsor. The sponsorship lasts for one year from the date of application and can be renewed annually for a further year. The decision to renew an animal sponsorship rests solely with you. The sponsorship is only automatically terminated in the event of the animal’s death or transfer to another zoo.

a) Private sponsorships

A basic sponsorship for an animal can be purchased from €50.00 for fish and from €100.00 for otters or marsh turtles. All supporters will (upon request) have their names displayed directly on the enclosure or aquarium of the sponsored animal. Furthermore, from €60.00, you can also acquire the right to name our native fish. So, for example, if you would like to name the catfish “Wilhelm”, you can have the name displayed on the tank.

Rights and obligations:

As an animal sponsor, you do not assume any obligations. Nor do you acquire any personal rights to the animals.

What do I receive as an animal sponsor?

Upon taking on the sponsorship, you will receive by post

• an annual sponsorship certificate
• an annual pass for the current or coming season (as desired)
• an invitation to the Animal Sponsors’ Day

What happens to my support?

The sponsorship fee is a direct contribution towards animal care and benefits the sponsored animal in full. It is used for food, enclosure/aquarium maintenance and veterinary care.

b) Corporate sponsorships

Companies that take on an animal sponsorship will be named directly on the enclosure or aquarium of the sponsored animal. We also offer you a mention on our website and social media, as well as a corresponding link. Companies can purchase a sponsorship starting from €250.00.
