Water garden

Our water garden invites you to relax and discover

The fascination of the Waldviertel ponds and bogs

Water-seeing-experiencing-comprehension for the whole family - with this motto the garden is dedicated to the different wetlands of the Waldviertel with their typical plants such as peat moss, sundew, pond rose and the characteristic grasses. Accessible water terraces show the banks and siltation areas of a pond until the formation of a bog. Typical water garden elements such as stream and spring stone are integrated in the garden. Cable rafts, a water adventure course and the near-natural otter system provide the experience factor.

In the water garden of the UnterWasserReich you can experience the diversity of the Waldviertel wetlands, which you had previously got to know in the exhibition in "Theory".
With a little patience, you can watch frogs, grass snakes, dragonflies and butterflies while walking across the water terraces.
